What People's Say About Place

Wow, wow, wow — absolutely amazing! The flavors are out of this world, the cocktail menu is spot on, and the service is second to none. Add in the perfect ambiance, and you’ve got a place that works just as well for a romantic date night as it does for happy hour with friends. Three must-tries are the tequila selection, the plantains, and of course, the tableside guacamole. The only thing that topped the incredible food was the outstanding service — warm, attentive, and on point from start to finish. The atmosphere is inviting, there’s ample parking, and even outdoor seating to enjoy when the weather is nice. If I’m ever back in this area, this will be a guaranteed stop!

Nice surprise. My wife recommended to come and we finally did it, a bit far from our place but it was well worth the drive. The place is well designed and modern, but not too much that would feel weird eating Mexican food. All the dishes we ordered well presented, flavorful and fresh. Chips and salsa, pork mole, chicken enchiladas, shrimp tacos and tres leches. We loved all of them. This version of trea leches is not the original, but it was delicious. Good service. Will Be Back.

A welcoming, casual atmosphere. We went at 2:30 on a Sunday, during Christmas week. Not overly crowded, tables are well spaced. I had the braised pork, my husband had the red snapper. Both were very good. Nice portion sizes. We each had a glass of wine. It was my birthday so we ordered the Tres Leches Cake for dessert. (It came with a candle) Overall it was enjoyed, we’ll be back.

After spending the morning at Old Mystic Village, hubby found this restaurant right across the street while looking for one with vegan options. This restaurant has a whole vegan menu!!! The food was fresh and delicious, service was quick and friendly (we were there for a late lunch on a Friday) and their homemade hot sauce is to die for! Saving this restaurant and will probably have to make the hour trip from home to visit again.

I’m back. Tonight, pressed for time, we popped in to Rio Salado for a quick drink and appetizer on our way to a show at one of the nearby casinos. We sat at the bar. How can simple chips and salsa, and southwestern chicken quesadillas leave such an impression… flavor. Taste their salsa and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into it. It’s not a contest of heat, because you can have heat without flavor. Rio Salado’s salsa has just the perfect amount of heat, but more importantly, the very best flavor. The quesadillas were excellent, not overstuffed, not overcooked. The chicken wasn’t dry and was very identifiable- not so smothered in cheese that you weren’t sure what you were eating. Can’t forget to mention the excellent attention from two excellent barmaids/waitstaff. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I really had no intention of reviewing tonight. I can’t wait to return.

Every time we come here, we always leave satisfied. The food is always so delicious and with freshly prepared ingredients. The drinks are some of the best cocktails you’ll ever have in Mystic. Order the Pina asada and PBT cocktails!! Always great service and the perfect date night spot or girls night out.

Great meal, great service! Quickly seated for lunch, and presented with a complimentary bowl of cucumbers with tajin as an appetizer. Very refreshing on such a hot day! Fish tacos and enchiladas mole were excellent. Luis, our waiter, was attentive and upbeat, giving us little "worry dolls" at the end of the meal. Definitely recommend!

One of the best mexican Restaurants in CT! Went for my mother's birthday for the first time and it was amazing. Fresh Gaucamole, Slasa and chips. You can tell its all freshly made. Our waiter was excellent, attentive and friendly. Its conveniently located across the street from Old Mystic Village.
